What is NOMA?
The National Organization of Minority Architects is a not-for-profit organization created to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field of architecture. The organization has over thirty professional chapters representing architecture networks of cities and states throughout the nation. Our state of Colorado is now represented in the NOMA National family since establishing a local chapter in 2020, NOMA Colorado.
With the founding of our chapter in September 2020, Colorado’s architecture industry positioned itself to become more equitable, inclusive, and diverse in the years to come. Our focus for the 2021 year has been to establish a solid foundation and sustainable infrastructure with the help of our community members and allies. Our goal is to become an industry leader in resources to educate our community in matters of race, professional development, and inclusion as well as to be highly visible within Colorado’s architecture community. Representation is a key factor in creating a diverse and equitable environment for the current and future generations of architects and designers.
