NOMA Colorado is facilitating a virtual event where attendees will learn about the challenges of experiencing microaggressions in the workplace and architecture industry, especially as a minority. This educational session will explain the meanings of the terminology best used to articulate issues most frequently experienced by minority races. In addition, we will review the history of micro aggressive behavior, how to identify it, and how to respond to it. Beyond just learning to identify these subconscious behaviors within ourselves, we will also learn how to identify it in others, coping mechanisms, process skills and creative ways to resolutions. Attendees will first learn from three amazing industry professionals and then after participate in a live Q&A where these topics will be further explored in a candid, compassionate, and transparent manner. This event will create a safe space for all race, ethnic, and gender groups to be empowered in knowledge, awareness, and understanding. As NOMA Colorado aims to shed light on some causes and effects of racial and cultural injustices, please RSVP by May 9th, and invite as many friends, colleagues and employees as you can. We hope to see you there!
